Oblivious Journey Revisited

Life is a jaunty journey to the oblivion,
A blind mapper's origami ornamenting scenes,
That shadow the scenes to come
On a road misted with malingering memories.
No driver can drive with eyes on the horizon,
Nor with eyes behind, but only
At the piece of road, just ahead.
With you there are travellers on warm chairs,
Broken chairs, new chairs, wise chairs,
And those that pass by, waving, floating,
Sitting, dreaming or pleading a lift...
Segments of sentimental seas embrace the road,
Clouds cast patchy rains of epiphany,
The sun and moon smile and cry mockingly...
And yet you travel forwards and never backwards,
To a destination mapped by your origami...
Until you realize....everything starts
And ends-

Where you began.

journey to oblivion is really good.may be poet thinking time is driving all from alpha to omega and that is it .when u r moving ahead u as a driver on the charriot of time there r few people along with u and ur visible frame is in the "abselone neighbourhood"
R u seriously concerned abt existentialism. Certain sxpressions look diabolical like smiling and crying sun and moon.....

yes you're right, its about a journey into oblivion, and the people you meet and travel with you. what exactly do you mean by the term existentialism? the smiling crying sun and mood aren't meant to be diabolical, more about how time and seasons carry feeling, emotions and life away helplessly and all we can do is travel forwards...thanks for the comment...love it when someone analyses my poem....let me know what you mean when you say existentialism...

There is a wide variety of philosophical ideologies that make up existentialism so there is not a universal existentialism definition. It is necessary to remain open and realize that most existentialists have a different view and form.

Existentialism is a 20th century philosophy concerned with human existence, finding self, and the meaning of life through free will, choice, and personal responsibility. The belief that people are searching to find out who and what they are throughout life as they make choices based on their experiences, beliefs, and outlook without the help of laws, ethnic rules, or traditions.

Existentialism then stresses that a person’s judgment is the determining factor for what is to be believed rather than by religious or secular world values.
I will connect it your poem after seeing you reply.

yes then my poem's message is very similar to your last paragraph...i believe that its better to be free from all ideologies and dogmas and instead investigate through rational thinking and self-awareness. this is usually the central message in my poems.People shouldn't blindly believe in anything from religion to science because t do so is not being intelligent.Instead they should rationalise the different view points. Also I think all the answers about existence is contained in one's self. One need to just watch oneself wholly to realise it.
